Meet Marcy
I was born and raised in Annapolis County, same as my parents. I am a daughter, sister, aunt, wife and mother of two elementary-school-aged boys; skating coach and social worker. I love animals, workouts, backyards, beaches and books.
What I love about volunteering with the Annapolis Community Health Board is the opportunities. Opportunities to learn, to engage with others and opportunities to share my experiences. I am still figuring out my role and niche as it relates but I am 100 percent excited about the positivity and prevention that comes from the community health boards projects and team members; it all matters.
The Community Health Plan priority that speaks the most to me is housing. We have a housing crisis. People cannot afford to get into housing. Housing is not accessible for so many due to rural locations. People cannot afford to keep their housing or improve their housing. We do not have adequate emergency housing options within Annapolis County meaning men, women and children must leave the surrounding area for help or stay and suffer. All of this greatly impacts physical and mental/emotional health.
